In 1950, the legend of the 5th St. Gym was born. Chris and Angelo Dundee would build the "University of Boxing" into the most famous boxing gym on earth. It would come to house 15 world champions; Carmen Basilo, Willie Pastrano, Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, and George Foreman to name a few. It would also guest host visitors from all over the world including The Beatles, Sean Connery, Frank Sinatra, Rocky Marciano, Roberto Duran, Jackie Gleason-not to mention the fighters, travelers, and locals. The gym known as "Oz" has been dormant since 1992, but has been reborn in its original location at 5th and Washington.
