Arizona Trucking Association
www.arizonatrucking.comTHE ARIZONA TRUCKING ASSOCIATION AND THE TRUCKING INDUSTRY HAVE A LONG AND RICH HISTORY IN ARIZONA. From the early 20th century, trucks were the primary mode for hauling copper from Arizona mines to processing and manufacturing plants, raw cotton to gins and mills, cattle to railheads and local markets, and citrus to packing and distribution centers. Today's modern trucking industry operates in every aspect of economic life, delivering textbooks, medical supplies, retail goods and the building blocks of highways and energy production for the state's growing population. In Arizona, trucking is everybody's business! The Arizona Motor Transport Association (AMTA), as ATA was originally called, was incorporated on September 9, 1937 as a non-profit trade organization. AMTA officially changed its name to Arizona Trucking Association (ATA) in early 2004. This year 2012 we celebrate our 75th. Anniversary. The association's membership more than doubled from 2002 to 2008, leading to expanded programs and services along with completion of a new headquarters facility at 75th Avenue and Madison Street in Tolleson. Our state-of-the-art building features an expanded Vehicle Registration Office and waiting area; fully equipped double classroom and catering kitchen; parking for more than 50 cars; and other amenities.
