Beautify Spearfish is part of the #BeautifyYourTown movement started by two women in Western South Dakota after noticing the amount of litter in their small community within the scenic Black Hills. The mission of Beautify Your Town is to help communities form chapters to clean up litter around their town, encourage the 5 R’s – Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Re-purpose, Recycle, and promote the use of Eco-friendly and sustainable products in place of disposable and single-use items to lessen the impact we have on our only home. We love where we live and we want others to love it too. From educating the public about recycling and the impact plastics and litter have on our environment, to the importance of supporting locally owned business, we promote it all.
