(“IWiT”) is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose mission is to inspire women and girls of all ages to pursue STEM related employment in Indiana by exposing them to experiences and career opportunities in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics as well as provide the necessary financial support, mentoring, training, and education. IWiT in partnership with Women & Hi Tech and Connor Prairie, have implemented a STEM Day, called Ignite Your Superpower!, for middle schools girls that provides them with hands-on learning in the fields of science, engineering, biology, chemistry, computers, and other STEM disciplines. IWiT has also designed a comprehensive and innovative approach, by partnering with multiple local organizations, to help women enter, re-enter or transition into the tech workforce. The education and training program, launched in May of 2017, strives to help women obtain and finance the necessary training, education and mentoring to succeed in a tech-related career. Other current initiatives include Indy Women in Tech’s ongoing support of elementary school robotics programs as well as the inaugural Indy Women in Tech Championship presented by Guggenheim, which brings some of the top golfers in the world to Indianapolis in order to highlight the importance of STEM education as well as showcase Indy as a viable tech hub.
