Construction Technologies

www.construction-technologies.ca

We offer solutions for building systems based on materials and designs which are low cost, high efficiency, fast to produce, renewable based, self-sufficient adaptable to different regions and climates and raw materials, and able to be produced in large or small production runs. Our goal has been to develop new building materials and designs as an entry into the 21st century, referencing the validity and ecological basis of ancient methods. One of these systems and materials was favourably evaluated by the Canadian Innovation Centre at Waterloo University. The system uses very basic technology on the level of farm machinery to mould and extrude buildings, solar collectors and other products at full scale or in modules from a structural insulating material based on mineral cements and cellulose fibres - ceramic cellulose and variants. It has been my privilege to work on several new technologies now becoming more part of the vernacular of construction methods and materials: building the first Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) house in Alberta with Maryan Trnski, work on a concrete housing scheme with Gordon Laing, first rammed earth building within the City of Calgary in 1991 with my dad. Experience with these and other projects refined my goal to develop a complete and adaptable housing system based on renewable or re-useable materials and basic technology for means of production on any scale.
