Concordia University-Oregon was a Portland-based university from 1905-2019. The Boise-based School of Law provided an experiential legal education that integrated the knowledge, skills, and values necessary for graduates to become engaged servant leaders. Our vision included the on-going commitment to the community as a premier, private, nonprofit university of quality and distinction that engages all students and produced alumni who would serve with integrity in their lives, fields of study, and resulting careers – legal or otherwise. We accomplished our mission and vision by welcoming diverse perspectives in an environment of open discourse and academic freedom in the tradition of Martin Luther, the founder of the Christian Reformation. With the support of our community, our students thrive in an environment that’s challenging, motivating, and inclusive. We strived to be diverse, adaptable, and sustainable in order to continue to grow and thrive, but the Missouri-based church providing financial backing removed its support in late 2018, so we were forced to shut down in 2019.
