(METG) exists for the charitable and educational purpose of promoting and strengthening excellence, access, and education in the theatrical arts for middle and secondary school students and teachers. For more than 90 years, the METG has been a leader in arts education, believing that theater has a unique power to enrich and transform young people’s lives. METG Perspective For almost a century, the METG has been a leader in arts education: Educational Collaboration - We work with teachers and artists in schools to strengthen their drama based activities and improve theatrical production values. Leadership - We train young theater artists to become positive, empathetic leaders and to embrace the diversity of theought in their communities. Advocacy - We work to close the arts programming gap in underserved communities by underscoring the importance of strong school arts curricula and increased public funding for education. Inspiration - We work with teachers and artists in schools to strengthen their drama based activities and improve theatrical production values.
