Founded in 1893, Spar- und Bauverein eG in Dortmund is today the largest housing cooperative with its own savings facility in North Rhine-Westphalia. With around 12,000 commission-free flats, 2,500 garages and over 80 commercial properties, it shapes living and working spaces in Dortmund and assumes sustainable social responsibility through social, cultural and neighbourhood services. The cooperative also invests more than 50 million euros annually in new construction, modernisation and maintenance measures.
