A Bit of Background: Falmouth Marine Conservation Group was founded in November 2016 by a diverse group of volunteers raising marine awareness to empower our community in protecting the local marine environment. Our aims are to: - Inspire the community through engaging events, campaigns and projects - Work with local groups, organisations and schools to educate about marine conservation - Monitor and record marine wildlife to support conservation efforts - Engage with local businesses so that together we can have a positive effect on the local environment . Falmouth is a beautiful place with rich marine biodiversity and a thriving community. With more and more people moving to the area, we have a great opportunity to raise marine awareness and help protect the ocean we depend on. Our Goals: 1) Education - Engaging local schools and organisations though educational events about local marine life and cutting edge research. We hope to inspire the community in to protect the marine environment and learn how to live alongside our marine wildlife harmoniously. 2) Research - Collecting data and recording local wildlife sightings to support our conservation efforts and understand more about the local coast and how we can conserve it in the best way possible. 3) Events and Campaigns - Inspiring and educating the local community through fun and motivational events. 4) Business - Collaborating with business to improve the Falmouth marine environment by helping them decrease their negative impact.
