Groupe de Coopération Internationale de lUniversité de Sherbrooke (G.C.I.U.S.)
www.gcius.caThe Groupe de Coopération Internationale de l'Université de Sherbrooke (G.C.I.U.S.) is a charitable organization working mainly for the realization of sustainable multidisciplinary projects in developing countries and for the optimization of the positive impact of these projects on the community's standard of living, in particular by promoting gender equality. Since 2019, the organization has undertaken a major administrative overhaul. Thanks to the efforts made, the GCIUS has adopted General Regulations, marking the arrival of a General Assembly, a Board of Directors and a fixed Operational Center. GCIUS activities are planned, carried out and monitored with results-based management (RBM), in order to maximize the positive impact of its interventions on beneficiaries. This method, advocated by Global Affairs Canada for project management in international cooperation, provides different tools at each phase of a project's life cycle in order to achieve the objectives set. The GCIUS has set itself the task of promoting the emergence of sustainable development initiatives by students at the Université de Sherbrooke and local communities in the countries of intervention, through supportive, inclusive and dynamic networks.
