Warner Schmidt Photography

My name is Warner Schmidt. My interest in photography began on a family vacation several years ago. My Dad, who had been interested in photography for some time, taught me everything he knew on his Canon AE-1 and Vivitar Series 1 Lens. He then relinquished control of his camera and allowed me to photograph the remainder of the vacation. Much to my surprise (and probably my Dad’s as well), upon developing the film, we found a wealth of well-framed, strongly-composed, and vivid photos. To this day, I still include a few of those photos in my portfolio. From that vacation on, I began borrowing Dad’s camera frequently (though I was reluctant to pay for film and development). Eventually, the family “upgraded,” and we purchased a digital pro-consumer (a high-end point-and-shoot) camera. I used the digital camera extensively until my sister moved away and took it with her. At this point, I was convinced digital photography was the way to go, and I wanted to expand my horizons and begin professional portrait photography. Despite the good quality I was getting with the equipment I had been using, I was still uncomfortable taking such important pictures with “inferior” equipment. I began saving and eventually purchased my Canon DSLR. It was then, that I started doing portraits and events professionally. Now, working with a 15.1 mega-pixel camera, I’ve entered a realm of technology within photography that enhances my artistic vision and allows me to capture what the eye sees. I hope you’ll take a look at my work and decide that Warner Schmidt Photography can fulfill the photography needs you require, and at a price you can afford.
