Girls on the Run – Maine was established in 2012 as an independent council of Girls on the Run International by a group of hard-working volunteers with passion for our mission. Our first teams, a total of 37 girls at one site in Portland, completed their season and celebratory 5k in November 2012. Since that time, we have seen great demand for our programs and experienced rapid but controlled growth.
