Innovation Energy Development - IED - is a consulting and engineering company engaged in international cooperation since 1988. Specializing in projects in Africa and Asia, IED is a reckoned player for its mastery of renewable energies (photovoltaic, biomass and hydropower) and for its expertise in electrical engineering. Driven by a logic of sustainability and social-economic impacts arising from its action, IED: - Carries engineering studies and technical and socio-economic diagnosis (particularly in analysis of electricity demand); - Advises policy makers in defining and implementing their energy strategy, particularly through the design of national or supranational master plans; - Designs, develops and oversees the construction of electricity generation, transmission and distribution infrastructures in both rural and urban areas ; - Supports energy sector players with a variety of technical assistance and capacity building (mainly through training and software development/sales). With a multicultural team with various skills of about 25 employees in France and around 100 abroad, IED currently works in some 20 countries. In its interventions, IED collaborates with national institutions - energy ministries, local authorities - and international ones - including World Bank, EU, AFD, AfDB, DFID, MCC, UN, FFEM - national electricity companies, rural regulatory and electrification agencies. IED Invest working on the development, construction and operation of small, decentralized and autonomous renewable energy power generation units, reconciling economic development with ecological sustainability.
