New Forest Cider Ltd
www.newforestcider.co.ukA family run business based on the small holding in Burley, The New Forest. Founded in 1988 by owners, Barry and Sue Topp, Barry had the vision to produce cider on the farm, utilising the otherwise wasted orchard fruit. Barry found an old hydraulic press that was about to be auctioned, he successfully won the bid and started juicing the next year. The old dairy on the farm, converted perfectly in to a farm shop for locals and visitors from afar to come, sample and purchase the goods. In addition to that Barry found local shows and events across the country to take the ciders on tour and soon his unique thatched trailer became a familiar sight on the road. Production now overseen by eldest son, John, the brand 'New Forest Cider, has developed into a whole range of traditional ciders and juices, using different techniques to get a range of flavours and styles. Daughters Sally and Mary help with the running of the company too. Developing products and running different areas of the business, including the forty cover cafe, The Cider Pantry, that is on the farm and overseeing 'The Cider House, London' a destination cider bar prominently in London's Borough Market.
