Willamette Animal Guild
www.wagwag.orgBrief History of the Organization: Willamette Animal Guild (WAG) was founded in 2004. WAG assumed the non-profit corporation Emerald Valley Animal League, incorporated in 1999. Always, WAG’s goal was the establishment of a low-cost, high volume, full-time, fixed-location spay/neuter clinic. WAG joined the Humane Alliance in 2006. With the help of their sponsorship, we obtained the grants necessary for equipment and a discount on supplies that continues to this day. The WAG clinic opened on January 8, 2008. Our first vet proved unsatisfactory, forcing closure of the clinic; we re-opened part-time in March of 2008 after hiring Dr. Bernie Robe. In June of 2008 Dr. Robe joined us full-time and has been with us ever since. In our five years of operation, we have averaged over 5,000 spays and neuters yearly. On June 18, 2013, we performed our 26,000th surgery. We also offer vaccinations and flea treatments at reasonable cost. All non-surgical services are provided only to previously spayed or neutered cats and dogs.
