The Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority (PMCPA) is responsible for administering The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry’s (ABPI) Code of Practice for the Pharmaceutical Industry (Code) at arms length of the ABPI. The Code covers the promotion of medicines for prescribing to health professionals and the provision of information to the public about prescription only medicines in the UK. The PMCPA, which was established in 1993, provides advice, guidance and training on the Code as well as operating the complaints procedure.
