I am a District Councillor doing my best to bring to some innovative thinking to how local government should engage with those they serve. The Council that I am involved with (South Hams DC) is bogged down in the idea that they are there do deliver service. My view is they are there to lead, through elected members, to deliver what people want. That requires dialogue. The top down approach is not democratic and does not deliver. People need to feel a sense of ownership and involvement. I am also an advocate of crypto currencies and actively involved. I am particularly interested in how they may be used to promote local resilience and green economies.
