The program which Working Power was built upon started in 2003. Originally called Job Prep Plus, it was founded as an outreach of the Cornerstone Youth Center in Samson, Alabama. The goal was then, as it is today, to teach members of the community how to get and keep a job. Working Power, Inc.. is a non-profit corporation and shall be operated exclusively for nonprofit educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, or the corresponding section of any future tax code.
