Eggpicnic is a Sydney-based illustration and design studio devoted to wildlife conservation set up by designers and birders Camila De Gregorio and Christopher Macaluso. They produce fine art prints to end wildlife extinction through education. Creating characters that tread a fine line between art and design, Eggpicnic aims to capture the beauty of the natural world with the hope of inspiring others to protect it. Simple yet striking, their work has been transformed into large- scale public art throughout the City of Sydney, Sydney Olympic Park and the iconic Bondi Beach, bringing nature back into the urban environment. They are the first winners of the Sydney Opera House‘s Uncovered Program, with their work selected as the best in the category of Prints, Photography and Art. Their practice involves clients from the public and private sector and they have been closely involved in working with government organisations and various councils, including NSW Government, Waverley Council, King Island Council and Weddin Shire Council. They also work with scientists and NGOs, with their work exhibited in New York as part of New York Audubon’s Summer Exhibition. Their latest work was recently exhibited at the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney this year, who they worked closely with depicting local fauna across three Botanic Gardens.
