Our mission is to equip individuals, families and children with resources, tools, and opportunities to break the cycle of generational poverty and achieve self-sufficiency through education, workforce development and advocacy. To accomplish our mission, we have successfully implemented several high quality mentoring, educational, and life skills programs: 1) Violence Prevention Education & ex-offender mentoring/case management through a partnership with Human Relations Council (9th year) 2) Summer Literacy at Fairview Elementary (ages 6-12), through Children's Defense Fund's Freedom Schools (9th year) 3) Mentoring (Boys, grades 5-8) at the Dayton Boys Preparatory School through Governor's Community Connectors Grant, (3rd year) 4) Work-Ready Life Skills Training (adults) through a Montgomery County Jobs and Family Services grant (3rd year) 5) Afterschool Education Program at Fairview Elementary (Pre K-6) through a five year 21st Century Grant (1st year) With a track record of success in dealing with community-wide issues, such as joblessness, gun violence, illiteracy, and education – Omega CDC is ready to use its reach, resources, and network of community partners to revitalize and empower Northwest Dayton region.
