Regents School of Charlottesville
www.regents-school.orgRegents School of Charlottesville was established in August of 2010 in Charlottesville, Virginia with the hope and expectation that all we do as a school would be Soli Deo Gloria (to God alone be the glory.) Our mission is to provide a classical and Christian education, founded upon and informed by a biblical worldview, that equips our students to know, love, and practice that which is true, good, and excellent and challenges them to live purposefully and intelligently as servants of the Lord Jesus Christ for the benefit of man and the glory of God. We accomplish this mission by employing the time-tested methods of the Trivium as described in Dorothy Sayers' 1947 essay "The Lost Tools of Learning." Sayers describes three developmental stages of learning as being best served by Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric stages of education. These stages of education are structured to capture a student's natural propensity for acquiring knowledge with tools of learning appropriate to their age. The most important distinction of a Regents education, however, is testing all of our curriculum, methodology, and arguments against biblical truth. We train up young hearts and minds alongside their parents to know, love, and practice God’s Word. There is great purpose to all that we teach at Regents in equipping our students to go out and serve God and man in a world that is declining. It is imperative that we raise up Christian men and women to be substantive leaders for the next generation, who know truth, can think logically, and can articulate their arguments winsomely to others. Through years of study and logical thinking, we want our graduates to know truth, appreciate beauty, and demonstrate a God-given wisdom.
