Sadaqa Welfare Fund was founded in 2013 when two friends felt distressed about the many catastrophes taking place around the world. They asked themselves the same question that you might find you’ve asked yourself, “What can we do and how can we make a difference?” After some research and investigations, the duo launched Sadaqa Welfare’s very first project in Bangladesh. They soon came to discover that it was the eighth most impoverished country in the world and was years behind Australia in some of the most basic human necessities like food, access to clean water, human rights and more. Overwhelmed by what they had witnessed of the living conditions of the people in Bangladesh, the Sadaqa Welfare team felt more than ever that they had a responsibility to make a difference in the lives of the poor and needy. Sadaqa Welfare Fund has grown and evolved over the past many years and now focuses on working in the most vulnerable places on the planet like parts of Africa, Yemen, Syria, Gaza, Bangladesh, Rohingya, Indonesia and Turkey. All of the field distributions and on-the-ground execution of projects are carried out by Sadaqa Welfare Fund team members, ensuring donor confidence. The team that donors give to in Australia are the same team that carries out the distributions on the ground. Sadaqa Welfare Fund has a 100% Zakat donation policy.
