After intense collaborations with Adjaye Architects and extensive work at Parsons New York, Elise Som created the Elise Som Design Studio. Since its inception the studio has successfully completed projects both large and small, creating lively, energetic yet tranquil spaces and cutting edge furniture design. The goal at ESDS is to create an unfiltered elegance that unites the natural and manufactured, creating textural certainty by fusing elements of geometric and organic forms. Stylish and sustainable modern designs are created for luxury and comfort in contemporary spaces. Spanning three continents and four countries the universality of ESDS design blends European, African and American elements into one unobjectionable, globally unified, neoteric aesthetic. ESDS has augmented there range by being one of the very few design firms to create projects in the Central African country of Gabon. Master craftsmen, from the Brianza region in Milan, carefully hand tool each piece to attain the quality and caliber rarely duplicated anywhere else in the world. Rich Wengé and Chestnut woods are utilized in our furniture and interior concepts, getting away from the use of traditional oaks and pines thus infusing a youthful glow to our delineative design. Having one of the most culturally diverse design teams in all of New York with members from the United States, France, Cambodia, the Caribbean, Africa and China makes ESDS unique in its approaches to design.
