Sammies Sunshine
www.sammiessunshine.orgThe Sammie's Sunshine Mission is to offer hope and support to families facing tragedy resulting from auto accidents, as well as to provide education and awareness in order to decrease the number of tragedies each year through seat belt awareness programs. On July 21, 2020, the lives of so many changed so quickly. Sammie was in a horrific car accident. She was not wearing her seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. Sammie fought hard for six days but passed away on July 27th, the day after her 15th birthday. It was the most difficult thing our family has ever gone through. We had an amazing support system, but we know that not all families do. Out of this tragedy, we found a calling to help offer support and hope to others facing similar situations. No one truly understands what this pain feels like until they have endured it. We found talking with others who had been through something similar helped so much and believe Sammie's Sunshine can offer that help moving forward. Our passion is to meet each family where they are and help as needed. We truly want to offer them a "Raye of Hope". We plan to help support them financially, emotionally or just by walking with them through a difficult time. Another passion for us is seat belt awareness. Prevention is the key and we will focus on seat belt awareness programs and education. As Sammie's family, we ask you to buckle up. Seat belts save lives and we do not want any other family to endure the pain we have been through. Parents, make sure your kids are always buckling up. Kids, make sure you and your friends are always buckled up. Buckle up for those who love you! Samantha Raye was a strong force and with her as our inspiration, we know we will make a difference! We hope you will join us in making that difference!
