The GRACE Project

The GRACE Project inspires financial independence for Kenyan families through education, healthcare, and vocational agricultural training. The GRACE Academic Center is a co-ed day school with about 150 students and is a registered, KPSA member with 100% certified teachers. The school provides a high quality education, a nutritious lunch, and basic health care to local disadvantaged children in Kisii, Kenya. The school has achieved a 100% passing level on the high school entrance exam and repeatedly scores among the top schools in the county. Goals for the future include a water bore hole to consistently provide clean water throughout the year, increase the nutritional content and number of meals offered to the students, and provide the girls a boarding opportunity to further support their educational success. The GRACE Health & Nutrition Center through an on-staff certified nurse practitioner, focuses on preventative care, nutrition education, life-skills, and sexual and reproductive health programs for students and the local community. The Health & Nutrition Center is still in early phases of development. We hope to one day provide visiting doctors and dentists once per month for both the students and the local community. The GRACE Agricultural Innovation Center provides the local community with opportunities to learn new farming techniques, properly grow and cook new produce with higher nutritional value, and enhance financial literacy and farm management. The farm also provides The GRACE Academic Center students with both produce and learning opportunities. The GRACE Agricultural Innovation Center hopes to expand both the types of training and extend community outreach opportunities. Someday visitors will be able to learn in an indoor facility and stay overnight on the farm. The GRACE Project is incorporated in the U.S. as a tax exempt 501c3 organization and also registered as a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) in Kenya.
