Data Terra

www.data-terra.org

Society and the Earth system are facing major upheavals coming at an unprecedented rate, be it global warming, environmental and health hazards, pollution or loss of biodiversity to name a few. Better understanding and predicting the Earth system’s mechanisms and evolution is a fundamental challenge for research. This implies interoperable infrastructures to speed up extraction, analysis, distribution and intelligent use of data, indicators and models from national and international observation systems. Data Terra is a research infrastructure dedicated to Earth-observation data. Created in 2016, it is underpinned by four data hubs covering each of the major compartments of the Earth system. - The AERIS atmosphere data hub generates products from observations and offers a range of data and support services. - The ForM@Ter hub is working in the solid Earth field. It seeks to exploit the massive influx of data from new space missions, new types of ground sensors, airborne sensors, antenna arrays and citizen instruments,... - The THEIA hub provides for the national / international scientific community and public environmental resource monitoring and management policies a vast portfolio of value-added data to support observation of land surfaces - The ODATIS hub aims to guarantee long-term access to heritage data and to ease uptake of in-situ and/or remote-sensing data acquired in the ocean . DINAMIS provides access to a bouquet of very-high-resolution commercial optical satellite data and serves as a relay for free high-resolution optical and radar data. Partners : CNES, CNRS, IFREMER, IRD, IGN, INRAE, IPGP, Météo France, CEA, SHOM, BRGM, CEREMA, CIRAD, INERIS, ONERA, Observatoire de la Côte d’Azur, Observatoire de Paris, École Polytechnique, Université de Lille, Université Fédérale de Toulouse, Agro Paris Tech, Université Grenoble-Alpes, Université Clermont-Auvergne, Université de Strasbourg, Université de Montpellier, Région Hauts de France.
