Building community through movement, Eryc Taylor Dance (est. 2006) is a New York City-based not-for-profit organization with a mission to advance appreciation of movement through presenting original performances, conducting masterclasses, and curating movement-based community outreach workshops. Eryc Taylor Dance remains committed to creating and delivering original collaborative & multimedia dance performances, continuing our annual new choreographer grant programs, and expanding our extensive dance outreach workshops in Brooklyn, The Bronx, Queens, and NYC. Our mission is to address disparities in the dance field by sharing valuable resources and creating professional opportunities for performing artists and collaborators. ETD believes the dance industry must be just, equitable, inclusive, and meaningfully contribute to social progress. We envision a dance macrocosm wherein power, funding, opportunities, and impacts are fair for all artists, instructors, administrators, and audiences; ETD strives to continue to initiate and create positive social change. We stand for decency, love, and respect for all and endeavor to convey that in our company mission and extensive outreach work. One of our core values as a non-profit dance company based in New York City is that all of our performances, workshops and events are accessible to provide equal access and equal opportunity to people with diverse abilities. Our dance company and diverse team of instructors work with and contract people with disabilities and ensure that all rehearsals, workshops, and performance spaces utilized provide ramps, elevators, and alternative accessibility.
