The Northland Community Council is a coalition of 27 civic associations, homeowners associations and other community groups in the Northland area of Columbus, Ohio. NCC’s purpose as recorded in its 1964 Articles of Incorporation is “to promote and foster the development of the northeastern part of the city of Columbus; to promote and foster goodwill and mutual understanding among the residents of the area; and to engage in such activities as shall raise the standards of civic responsibility and com-munity welfare within the area; [and] to coordinate the efforts and activities of civic associations and other organizations within the area.” NCC advocates for the Northland area with city, state and other agencies on issues such as economic development, infrastructure, education and schools, traffic planning and roadway improvements, code enforcement, crime and police staffing. NCC is active in many community projects and issues, including neighborhood block watches and beautification and community cleanup projects, and works with other area or-ganizations such as the Northland Area Business Association and the Northland Alli-ance (which are NCC members). For many years, NCC has produced the annual Northland Community Fourth of July Parade. The NCC Development Committee holds public hearings to review development and zoning matters within its approximately 25 square mile service area. The Council’s mailing address is P.O.
