In late 2017, a group of 12 friends decided that, after learning the homeless crisis in London had reached critical numbers (170,000 people*), it was time they did what they could to help the situation. Each donated enough money to create five care packages (60 in total), which included carefully selected self-care and non-perishable food items plus a sleeping bag. The group ventured out on the streets of London to distribute the bags. The reaction was so overwhelming positive that we saw potential to reach more homeless people, so started asking friends and family to be involved by donating in the aim to create more care packages to hand out to more of Greater London’s homeless. Over two years later, and with more than 2,800 packages hand delivered to homeless people, we have registered as a charity – IMPACT ON THE STREET.
