Alice Queen Limited (ASX: AQX) is an Australian minerals exploration company with an exciting portfolio of gold / copper-gold projects located in the Northern Molong Volcanic Belt in New South Wales, Horn Island in the Torres Strait and Fiji. It owns the majority interest in the Horn Island Project which is located on Horn Island and is about 17km off Queensland’s coast in the Torres Strait, just south of Papua New Guinea. The island hosts a previously operating gold mine which ceased operation in 1989, and Alice Queen has declared an Inferred Resource (JORC 2012) 7.9Mt @ 1.9g/t Au for 492,000oz (see ASX release 02/08/2018) for an area adjacent to the abandoned Horn Island Pit. Alice Queen has built a strong partnership with the Kaurareg People of Kaiwalagal. This partnership stands up as an example of how mining companies can engage with Traditional Owners to create real and mutual benefits. In March 2021, Alice Queen entered an agreement to acquire 100% of Fiji-domiciled exploration company Viti Pte Mining Limited (Viti Mining), which held two prospective Fiji Special Prospecting Licences, SPL 1514 Nabila and SPL 1513 Viani. Fiji has a long history of gold mining and is a coveted address for precious metals exploration.
