The Undercurrent Journal
www.undercurrentjournal.comWe edit and publish academic undergraduate papers, as well as short journalistic pieces reflecting on our field. We connect International Development Studies students nationally via our online forum and through social media. We provide part-time volunteer opportunities that build resumes and skills. We create and share career resources targeted at Canadian IDS students, recognizing the uniqueness of our professional futures in this field. Since 2004, The Undercurrent has published undergraduate writing in the field of International Development Studies. Through the nation-wide collaborative efforts of its volunteers, it has provided valuable experience, improved academic writing skills, and the chance to be formally published to hundreds of undergraduate students. At 10 years old, The Undercurrent is better positioned now more than ever to connect young Canadians in International Development Studies to a national discussion about our place and our thoughts in this field.
