I offer tailor-made workshops and courses for cellists of all abilities in the key areas of practice, performance and ensemble playing. Cellists have an opportunity to explore and expand their musical identity in small, friendly groups. Unsung Heroes Cello Ensemble is now very popular and is attended by students from far afield. Through this inspirational music we explore musical ideas, technical skills and a whole new world of artistic thought. I have now started a series of beautifully presented books of the wonderful scores we play available from my site. The performance workshop is presented with theatre director, Pat O'Toole - a charismatic and empathetic teacher who students feel immediately at ease with. An new arm to this class is the repertoire class in which players come to study a major piece in the cello repertoire for the sheer joy of it, without the pressure of feeling they have to be at performance level before even having put the bow on the string. Practising and establishing an evolving practice, is a vast area that needs constant attention. The workshops are specifically designed for the stage a cellist is currently at and students find they are returning in order to add more to their skill base and to avoid getting stuck.
