Based in Suquamish, WA, Kids In Concert (KIC) serves children ages 5 through 18 by providing them a safe, nurturing, and playful community where they can learn and grow together. KIC is modeled after El Sistema, the internationally renowned youth orchestra movement from Venezuela that has brought remarkable outcomes socially and musically across the globe. We use classical and orchestral training as platform on which to collaborate and connect meaningfully with others. Relying on strong mentor-student relationships, we link peers of varied ages together and bridge surrounding neighborhoods of Kitsap County. Every child is provided with an instrument, lessons, snacks, homework tutoring, and performance experience at no cost to the families, regardless of income. Fostering kind, resilient, empowered youth and inclusive communities, KIC is a symphony that changes lives.
