Southwest Rural Electric Association, Inc.

www.swre.com

We're more than just an electric company. We're Texhoma’s member-owned rural energy provider. Southwest Rural Electric is a community-focused organization known as a cooperative. We work to efficiently deliver affordable, reliable and safe energy to our consumer-members. The difference between an electric cooperative and an investor-owned utility is that we are founded, led and organized by the people of your community. Everyone who governs, works or has a vote within our cooperative is a member of the local community. In that sense, we belong to the communities we serve. Any excess revenues are shared back with the members of our cooperative. Each cooperative is different for each community, depending on the needs of those it serves. However, electric cooperatives across the nation are constantly working together to help make one another stronger, more efficient and better able to serve their local communities. Our seven principles include: >Cooperation >Democratic Member Control >Education & Training >Voluntary Membership >Concern for Community >Autonomy & Independence >Member Economic Participation Southwest Rural Electric Cooperative’s sole mission is to provide rural Texoman’s a better way of life through reliable, affordable energy and so much more. We’ve been here for 80 years and we’ll be here for 80 more. For more information on your local cooperative, please visit www.swre.com.
