The mission of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Acquisition is to deliver capability at the point of need through a Defense Acquisition System that is flexible, tailorable, and enables speed. Led by Ms. Tanya M. Skeen, who is the Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, the OASD(A) is implementing Department of Defense acquisition reform across four broad categories: restructuring acquisition policy and guidance, contracting at the speed of relevance, strengthening and securing the Defense Industrial Base, and effectively training the acquisition workforce.
