The firm was started as a partnership between principals Martin Pilchner and Rick Schoustal. Since that time the company has garnered a solid reputation for excellence in acoustics, systems engineering and facility design, and is ranked among the top companies for studio acoustics and facility design world-wide. The majority of work is turn-keying production facilities for the film, television, and music industries. PSII offers a complete range of services through a family of companies. Pilchner Schoustal provides the design and engineering services. Technature, a related company, provides custom manufacturing services of technical components and specialized acoustic systems, as well as markets a wide range of acoustic specialties to the building industry. AudioPro Inc. provides technical sales, support, and installation of all professional audio/video equipment. Since the start of Pilchner Schoustal we have been dedicated to the pursuit of quality, and have to date been responsible for the development of well over five hundred recording and broadcast facilities. We are also a firm dedicated to research having developed Acoustic-X software which was in use world-wide, as well as authoring and presenting technical papers on acoustic research related to both computerized predictive analysis, physical modeling, and surround sound reproduction.
