Institute for Industrial Production (IIP)
www.iip.kit.eduAt the Institute for Industrial Production (IIP), we work on current and future issues in the fields of production and energy in a scientifically sound manner and with close links to industrial practice. The Chair of Business Administration, Production and Operations Management performs techno-economic analyses of industrial value chains with a focus on risk management, circulatory economic systems, integrated environmental protection measures, production planning and biomass applications. Furthermore the Chair is engaged in production and logistics optimization, supply chain management and closed-loop systems. The Chair of Energy Economics analyses techno-economic questions along the whole energy supply chain, from primary energy supply, over energy conversion and energy transport to energy distribution and energy use. The French-German Institute for Environmental Research (DFIU) was established in 1991 as a research institution with the mandate to sustain the widespread wish of France and Germany for strengthening the cross-border scientific cooperation in the field of environmental research. Since then, our ambition is to be one of the central scientific players in the area of French-German and international environmental research.
