Plastics as a Resource is a community initiative design to provide local communities with the tools they need to harvest waste plastic as a feed material for the manufacture of practical goods and support a growing community of creative artists. Our first projects leverage the Precious Plastics open source designs for small scale plastic conversion. Our trial project in Timor Leste provided the set of four Precious Plastics machines (shredder, extrusion, compression) to a small island community off the coast of Timor Leste. We will be back soon with the results of this trial, photos, and plans for the next step ... stay tuned.
