In September 2019, two practices in Aberdare, in the Cynon Valley, South Wales, and a small practice in Caerau Lane in Cardiff came together with shared ideas on working more efficiently to combat the challenges that General Practice faces in these ever changing times. With increased demands on service, increasing complexity combined with poor funding and difficulties recruiting new GPs into the old ways of working, something had to be done to make things safer, more streamlined and efficient and able to manage the workloads in a smarter way for the benefits of the people we serve and the providers of front line care. Tarian Group was formed, with the ethos of improving access and quality of healthcare provision over a number of sites. All the practices retained their local identity but have become Tarian group Practices. By gradually moving and training the Administrative teams on one site, our ambition is to not only make General Practice Sustainable, but effective and efficient for all our service users and those that work with us.
