Clients can self-refer and do not need a mental health plan. Call 1300 259 724 for more information, or to arrange an appointment. We aim to directly impact on reducing Queensland’s high suicide statistics; currently 9 people each day take their lives & that suicide is the biggest preventable death rate of under 18s last year noting 75% of all suicides are male. We also aim to significantly reduce the stigma around suicide, especially self-harm through the raising of awareness, early education & intervention & direct support services across our community. Our Vision To provide affordable access to mental health services to those who are in urgent need Our Mission To support individuals and the ones closest to them in their time of crisis Our Values Care: We will provide a caring and safe environment for the community to share their moments of darkness Support: We support the individual and the ones close to them with a long-term approach to mental health. Educate: Through research and awareness initiatives we strive to educate the community about the importance of mental health and self-care The Sunlight Centre’s therapeutic plan follows Three Stages: 1) Psycho-education – bringing awareness and coping mechanisms to the community 2) Action – Free one to one therapy sessions for people in crises 3) Follow-up – Group support for clients and families that have gone through therapy at the Sunlight Centre
