PROTECTING THE COLORADO WE LOVE We live in the greatest state with the best people—the kind who'll smile and wave at a complete stranger. We believe in the frontier values of opportunity, independence, and responsibility. We want courage in our leaders, and results from our elected officials. In the face of a global pandemic, our state has done better than most. That’s because here in Colorado—unlike Washington—we put politics aside to do what’s best for the people we represent. I’m proud that while I’m a Democrat, every bill I’ve ever passed has had bipartisan support. Here’s some of what I’ve accomplished for you over the last few years in the Legislature: • I sponsored the historic bill to provide full day kindergarten to every Colorado kid—and I got it through the Senate unanimously! • I sponsored the nation's most comprehensive paid sick leave policy to ensure that every Colorado employee earns six days of paid sick leave every year. • I sponsored a $25 million small business grant program to make sure Colorado’s economy comes back from COVID even stronger than before. • I sponsored or co-sponsored multiple bills to lower the cost of healthcare, including a plan that has already cut health insurance premiums by 18% across the state. • I co-sponsored a historic bipartisan transportation plan to invest billions in our roads, bridges, and transit. • I led the fight for a just transition to renewable energy to reduce global warming and create good-paying jobs and a healthier environment for everyone.
