Its function is to control the individual battery cells, protection against over-charging and discharging, keeping cells inside operating temperature range and levelling capacity of individual cells. By connecting more Slave units via Master unit, the BMS can control up to 220 individual battery cells (over 800 V). REC BMS is capable of balancing with currents up to 1.6 A, it has extremely low self-consumption of energy, the measurement accuracy of each cell is 1 mV and it offers temperature measurement on each individual cell. Implemented algorithms allow balancing cells already during the charging cycle, which shortens the charging time. This innovation extends the cycles of battery cells and therefore prolong batteries life expectancy. A new algorithm was added to determine the exact state of charge (SOC) of individual battery pack, so that the user knows exactly how much energy is still available in his system. In addition, our product is also able to establish the communication between different electronic parts (via integrated CAN protocol) and between electric vehicle and charging station on Smart Grid following the standards obligatory for charging stations manufacturers.
