Our passion is revealing stories. Barking Spider Creative produces visual stories: where we tell stories, why, how and with who always changes, but visual stories are our core. Barking Spider Creative’s purpose is to create platforms for the stories of others - often invisible or overlooked stories - to be seen and heard. We interpret history and place, as well as community and individual narratives, most often through visual and theatre arts. Most often our works are the outcome of a collaborative creative process between communities or audiences and artists. We work across museums, galleries, theatres, communities, schools, festivals, residencies, workshops, for radio and for scientific and site specific projects. Founded in 2006, Barking Spider Creative is based regionally in Colac-Otway Shire. The company develops and creates visual stories through a combination of many art forms from art installation works to immersive theatre, embracing puppetry, poetry and performance.
