The NYC Climate Action Alliance is building an alliance of New Yorkers – individuals, businesses, institutions and NGOs – who are committed to achieving New York City’s ambitious goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 80% by the year 2050 by harnessing our collective ingenuity, inspiration, innovation and identity as New Yorkers. We'd like to see a carbon neutral, climate resilient and economically vibrant City because New Yorkers saw the wisdom and power of working together to take on a challenge that was bigger than each of us but not bigger than all of us. Here's what we do: We work with the NYC Bar Association to create a neutral forum for convening stakeholders to discuss climate issues and a hub for sharing best practices and encouraging innovation from the corporate, non-profit, financial, legal, governmental, real estate, transportation, engineering, educational and environmental sectors in New York City. We provide legal and operational support as needed to tackle climate challenges. We engage in programming and messaging aimed at emboldening New Yorkers to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and to encourage others to do the same.
