A number of leading UK based contamination control experts are delighted to announce the launch of the CONTAMINATION CONTROL NETWORK (CCN), the society for cleanroom, clean air and containment practitioners. CCN provides news, knowledge, training and education, personal development and a network for partnering, collaborating and communicating. The sphere of interest will include the design, control, testing and operation of cleanrooms, containment systems, operating theatres, isolation rooms, clean air devices, isolators, restricted access barrier systems (RABS), biosafety cabinets (BSCs/MSCs), local exhaust ventilation systems (LEVs), fume-hoods, instruments, garments and consumables. The main sectors in which these systems and equipment are used are pharmaceutical/life-sciences, research, hospital, medical device, food, industrial, technology and nuclear. The CCN is structured as a not-for-profit society with a written constitution, elected officers, a management committee and four levels of membership, namely: student, individual, corporate and honorary. Member benefits will include a website, a quarterly journal, access to CTCB-I training and education courses, an annual conference and opportunities to network with other members. The activities of the CCN are aimed at both providers and users of contamination control services, equipment and materials.
