Our founder, Lorenzo George Crosby, started with a grocery store in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia at the age of 20. He established his import/export business by trading local fish and lumber for fancy molasses from the Caribbean, which he supplied to retailers in Atlantic Canada, Quebec, and New England. Five generations later, Crosby continues to flourish as a small, independent, family-owned business. It’s used as a sweetener, flavour enhancer and colouring agent. A pure product, no added sulfates or sulfites, is gluten-free and certified Kosher. • Or create a custom blend of fancy and blackstrap molasses for a signature flavour, colour and sweetness profile. We also blend and package private label molasses and dry sugar for major retailers across Canada and we co-manufacture hot chocolate, drink crystals, and jelly powders for private label and national brands.
