Mommies In Need is a nonprofit organization that supports families by providing safe, loving childcare from expert staff so family members can get the medical care they need. Mommies In Need's mission is caring for kids so families can access healthcare. We fulfill our mission through multiple programs including Annie's Place, In-home care, play therapy, and virtual program. Annie's Place is a drop-off childcare center on Parkland Hospital campus. Annie's Place is a first-of-its-kind facility with specially trained teachers who care for children while their parents or family members are attending medical appointments. In-home care provides full-time, in-home nannies at no cost, for the duration of a family member's health crisis. Play Therapy is one of the ways we support parents by supporting their kids because a diagnosis is stressful for everyone in the family. Virtual Program provides “Virtual Nanny” calls through Zoom. Virtual calls are special one-on-one time with children and a trained nanny that is designed to provide caregivers who are experiencing a health crisis a chance to rest.
