Adventure Alternatives

www.adventurealternatives.com.au

Adventure Alternatives commenced in 2000 and is a fully self-funded, family business. We do not receive funding from Governments, Community Groups, Investors, or any other third party. So the money generated in our business is returned straight back to build, grow and develop better programs and activities for your school camp. In 2007, Adventure Alternatives established a purpose-built Outdoor Education Centre at Woodford, Queensland. Adventure Alternatives has developed a socially and environmentally sustainable outdoor education centre which provides real life experiences. Starting with just a toilet and shower block, a tarp for a dining area and 3 person dome tents for accommodation, it has now flourished into a centre with a full range of built initiatives, accommodation for 138 participants in bunk style accommodation in 9 eco cabins, commercial kitchen, 30x15m dining hall, and fully stocked gear shed and office to accommodate 150 people out bush. From humble beginnings to providing multiple-day programs for 3 separate clients in three locations for up to 295 participants while managing menus, 21 staff, logistics and equipment. Adventure Alternatives has achieved unprecedented success through its organic growth and down-to-earth beliefs. Todd Samorowski is the owner and director of Adventure Alternatives and has a Bachelor of Arts in Leisure Management and has been working in the outdoor education industry since 1997. Todd was the President of the Queensland Outdoor Recreation Federation for 3 years and was a board member for 5 years. Todd is an industry leader and entrepreneur whose ability to think creatively and innovatively has added greatly to the industry.
