It is recognised by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as qualified NGO since December 2007. MCO has headquarters ad operations offices in Turin and and an Rome and a network of field offices in twenty-five countries. MCO is also the publisher of the Missioni Consolata magazine, a reference point for those who are interested in development, cooperation and mission in the Global North as in the South. The work of MCO is primarily focused in five main areas: - health - urban peripheries - conflict - indigenous people - education and training and, within these broad areas, it runs projects in training, information, micro-credit support to women and young people, agricultural development, water supply and sanitation. The Consolata Missionaries and MCO are present in the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Korea, Ivory Coast, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Italy, Kenya, Liberia, Mexico, Mongolia, Mozambique, Poland, Portugal, UK, Spain, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, USA and Venezuela. Vision MCO intends to contribute to human, spiritual, social and economic development of man through the liberation from oppression, violence and poverty. It bases its action on the values of justice, peace, the dialogue between peoples and religions, and collaboration with all the expressions of international civil society who share the same commitment. Mission MCO conducts development cooperation drawing on the experience gained over more than a century by the Consolata Missionaries. The widespread, long-lasting and constant presence in the field and the active participation of local people in the cooperation initiatives are the traits characterizing MCO's method.
