The lockdown is over and with the vaccines coming our way, hope has reentered our lives. However, we still have a long road ahead to a complete recovery from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. In my association with MagicBus as an intern, I was able to comprehend the severity of the impact that the pandemic has had on family incomes and its direct influence on children’s education across the country. With schools formally closed and no access to open play areas, children have been holed up in cramped spaces, with their large extended families. Though education continued online, these children, with their limited and dwindling resources, faced challenges in pursuing their education. With us NOW moving towards the reopening of schools in the future; How do we ensure that the children will get back to school and cherish their school days? How do we ensure that they will not be working at farms, or doing other odd jobs to assist family income? How do we ensure that girls are not considered a liability and married off early? This fundraiser aims to help families restore their income and reduce the likelihood of children being used as bread winners and ensure that they continue with their education.
